SYNOPSIS

The outstanding properties of graphenes, carbon nanotubes and nanodiamonds , along with the exploitation of procedures for production and processing of such carbon nanomaterials , have opened a new era in material science. The applications of such nanostructures , that can be organized in  multivalent architectures   or inserted in matrices for the manufacturing of nanocomposites , are growing at very high speed , encompassing fields such as ITC, energy generation/storage /distribution, innovative transportation , advanced healthcare,   nanomedicine and more,

This Symposium will illustrate some important issues regarding the    synthesis processes , the characterization methodologies , the preparation of   nanocarbon-based materials   and their safe handling , underlining the advantages but also the drawbacks related to the use of   the nanostructured members of the carbon family.
