Dr. Andrea Porcari
Project Manager, Italian Association for Industrial Research (AIRI), Committee on Nanotechnologies and Key Enabling Technologies.
AIRI is a private, not-for profit, association funded in 1974 to promote industrial Research and Innovation and to enhance co-operation between the private and public sector. In 2003 AIRI created Nanotec IT, a technological division with the aim to promote nanotechnologies and, since 2013, the Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) and their industrial applications.
Andrea Porcari has a Doctor degree in Physics from the University of Milano (1998). After a short period of research activities within the university, he spent several years in the micro and nano-electronics field working in STMicroelectronics, as an engineer in charge of the processing and design of semiconductor components for the automotive, telecom and consumer sectors.
His current interest are related to technology and policy analysis, technology management, and multi-stakeholders dialogues on emerging and enabling technologies.
He joined AIRI in 2005, working as technology analyst and then as project manager, where he has been actively involved in the preparation, participation and management of several European and national projects aiming to support and promote the development of nanotechnologies and KETs. He is currently responsible for AIRI activities in the Nanorestart (H2020), Satori (FP7), and NanoLab (national funds) projects. He has managed the organization of national and international survey, conferences, multi-stakeholder dialogue events, thematic working groups, and published studies and reports on technology analysis and responsible research and innovation. He has been part of the organizing and managing committee of all the eight editions of the NanotechItaly Conference.
