Photocatalytic nanomaterials for water remediation
The project FONTANAPULIA - FOtocatalizzatori NanosTrutturati e RAdiazioNe UV per un’Acqua più PULItA - funded by POR Puglia FESR-FSE 2014-2020 – Azione Innonetwork - aims at developing new photocatalytic systems for the removal of priority and emerging pollutants in aqueous matrix through the exploitation of KET 2: Nanotechnology. In particular, the FONTANAPULIA project consortium (DHITECH S.c.a.r.l., Biotec S.r.l., Astra Engineering S.r.l., Chemiservice S.r.l., TCT S.r.l., Echolight S.r.l., CNR-IRSA, CNR-IPCF and CNR-NANOTEC) aims at the design, realization and characterization of a pilot plant for the abatement of priority and emerging pollutants in aqueous matrix (groundwater, urban and industrial wastewater) from different contaminated sites through the development of nano-structured metal oxides featuring photo-catalytic properties and thereof their industrial production as well as their immobilization on solid matrices. In the course of the project, new diagnostic methods for the photocatalytic system stability control as well as for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of wastewater pollutant amount will also be developed. After an introduction to the most relevant aspects of FONTANAPULIA project and an overview on the materials and on the technologies for the water remediation, the Technical session will disclose some of the most relevant activities on Nanophotocatalysis for water remediation both from the scientific side and from the application side.
