Carbon-based materials
The rich family of carbon materials has grown over the last two decades with the explosion of interest in nanoscale carbons. The distinctive physicochemical, mechanical and electrical properties of carbon nanostructures and of carbon-based nanomaterials, along with the feasibility of building multivalent architectures, are pushing the research towards a wide range of advanced applications. This Session will present some examples of synthetic strategies explored for the production and engineering of carbon nanophases and hybrid multi-phases nanostructures, and will illustrate some recent results obtained by fare-front researches.
