In the last years not only graphene but a wide class of 2D materials beyond graphene (Silicene, Phosporene, BN, MoS2) were attracting the interest of both research institutions and private stakeholders. The aim of the "Graphene-based materials" symposia @ Nanoinnovation 2016 is to bring together scientists working in different domains, in a multidisciplinary, academic and industrial environment, to disclose and discuss challenges and opportunities of this new class of materials. In particualr, in this symposium technological exploitation and integration will be discussed, with particular focus on opening an energy gap by means of size confinement, on the definition of a CMOS-comaptible technological strategy and on the capabilities offered by a chemical approach. |
