Net Shape Forming: active research projects and acquired experiences
Paolo RIGHETTINI, University of Bergamo
Net shape forming is an increasingly widespread manufacturing process which refers to the creation of an object in its finished form without the need for other actions. Such a process can be applied to several materials, from thermoplastic polymers to metals. The presentation deals with the description of some research projects active at the University of Bergamo on net shape forming on both thermoplastic polymers and Aluminium. Some acquired experiences are also reported, mainly with particular reference to selective laser.
