Riccardo Scarfiello received in 2012, with praise, his MSc degree in “Photochemistry and Molecular Materials” from the University of Bologna (Italy), with a dissertation on “Click chemistry: a synthetic approach toward graphene like material”. In two separate occasions (September 2011÷January 2012 and May 2012÷January 2013), he was research fellow at the Radboud University, Nijmegen (Netherlands) working in collaborations with the research groups of Prof. Roeland Nolte and Prof. Alan Rowan, where he dedicated respectively to the “Synthesis of graphene-like macromolecules mainly using click reaction” and to the “Synthesis of porphyrin clipped as organic catalyst in photo-induced epoxidation reaction”. At the present time he is being completed the PhD in “Biomolecular Nanotechnologies” at the Italian Institute of Technologies (IIT-CBN), Arnesano (Lecce, Italy) developing wet-chemistry synthetic approaches to colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals of WOx, TiO2, and CuS.
