Sapienza Università di Roma
Pierluigi Mondelli is a Research fellow of the Phisics Department at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". Graduated with honors on March 2016 in Nanotechnology Engineering, he started his research activity at the LoTUS laboratory (Physics Department, Sapienza University of Rome), working on the graphene growth on semiconductors. Experienced in Ultra-High Vacuum systems, he focused on the synthesis of graphene by high-temperature annealing of SiC thin films deposited on Si crystals. In particular, he studied the electronic and structural properties of graphene by means of Ultra-violet angle-resolved photoemission electron spectroscopy, X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Low energy electron diffraction. Attracted by the possibility to implement graphene in the modern industry, he collaborates with the Science and Engineering Faculty of the Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane, Australia) in order to improve the morphology of the GOS (graphene on silicon) systems, that were syntesized and characterized in-situ through Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Raman spectroscopy.
