Massimiliano ROCCHIA
Thermo Fisher Scientific

Massimiliano Rocchia received the Chemistry degree from the University of Torino in 1999, working on the study and characterization of TS-1 zeolites at different Titanium content as oxidation catalyst, and the Ph.D. degree in "Materials Science and Technology" from the Politecnico of Torino in 2002, working on systems based on porous silicon technology for sensing applications.

In December 2002, he joined with a post-doc fellowship the "Nanostructures and Nanodevices Project", Electromagnetism Division, at the National Institute of Metrological Research in Torino, former Istituto Elettrotecnico Nazionale “Galileo Ferraris", where he worked until December 2008 publishing 1 patent and more than 15 papers in peer reviewed journals. His main research interests were in the field of porous silicon technology, surface chemistry of nanostructured materials, sensors, biosensors and silicon optoelectronics. During this time, he worked in 2002 under the direction of Prof. M.J. Sailor, as Ph.D. visiting student at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the University of California of San Diego, and he was a Guest Researcher in 2003 at the Center of Research, Julich, Germany.

In January 2008 he joined ThermoFisher Scientific working as product specialist for molecular spectroscopy, responsible of the Italian Market, and in April 2013 he became the Raman Business Development Manager for Western Europe.
