Lorenzo Calabri is a Mechanical engineer with expertise in Nanotechnology and in particular in mechanical properties of nanomaterials (nanocoating, hard thin films, nanocomposite, nanoparticles and nanotubes) and in characterization techniques (Nanoindentation, Nanotribology, SEM and AFM microscopy).

He is now focused on industrial application of nanomaterials as a partner of the SME Tec Star S.r.l.

Brief CV information

2005 - Ph.D. in “Machine design and construction” - Department DMTI, University of Florence, Florence, Italy. Thesis-title: “Nanostructured Materials – NanoComposites and NanoCoatings”

2009 - Degree in CTE (Certificate for Technological Entrepreneurship) program, at the CIE (Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship) of the Santa Clara University-Leavey School of Business (Santa Clara,CA,USA). Topic of the business project developed: “nanoparticle-based materials”.

From 2009 up to now – Collaboration with the company TEC STAR SRL (www.tec-star.it) as a partner. TEC STAR is an SME, involved in the nanotechnology field and in particular in nanoparticles-based material development.
