Marco Torresi was born in Rome (RM) on January 21st 1973. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 2001 at Politecnico di Bari and he has got its PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2007. He is Assistant Professor in Fluid Machinery (ING-IND/08) at Politecnico di Bari University (DMMM) since 03/01/05. He is INFN Technological Associate since 2011. He teaches Fluid Machinery and Energy Systems since 2012. He has participated in several research projects including: i) PON MEL (Marine Energy Laboratory; PON PrInCE (Innovative Process for Energy Conversion); PON SEB (Smart Energy Boxes); PON InnovHEAD (Innovative technologies for reducing emissions, fuel consumption and operating costs of heavy-duty engines). Currently, He actively cooperates in the new Public-Private Laboratory, Energy Factory Bari, in collaboration with AVIO AERO a GE Aviation Business. His scientific activity covers different issues: 1) theoretical, numerical and experimental analysis of innovative systems for wave energy conversion, 2) theoretical, numerical and experimental analysis of wind turbines, and 3) experimental and numerical analysis of diluted combustion; 4) numerical and experimental investigation of turbo machinery impellers, working either as pumps or as turbines; 5) Numerical simulation of the flow field and chemical reactions within diesel catalyst.
