Chiara NOVARA
Dipartimento di Scienza Applicata e Tecnologia, Politecnico di Torino
Chiara Novara received the Master Degree in Advanced Chemical Methodologies from the University of Torino in 2012 and the Ph.D. in Materials Science and Technology at the Polytechnic University of Torino (PoliTo) in 2016. She is now a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) of the same university, where she is involved in a research programme aimed to the development of miniaturized sensors and diagnostic devices for industrial applications. Her main research activity is related to the development of novel metal-dielectric nanostructures based on silver/gold nanoparticles coupled to functional substrates for Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering sensing in the field of biomedicine and their integration in microfluidic lab-on-chip platforms. A special focus is devoted to multiplexing devices for miRNA biomarkers profiling. Other research activities deal with the application of Raman spectroscopy as a characterization tool in different fields, such as the study of the functionalization of carbon-based materials and composites or functional nanostructures for catalysis.
