Nicola Lisi graduated in Physics from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1989 discussing a thesis on gas discharges in Excimer Lasers. He received his PhD in Physics from the University of Natal (Durban, RSA) in 1995 with a work on optics and laser physics. From 1995 and 1997 was Post Doc EU fellow at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratories working on Laser Plasma X-ray sources, from 1997 and 2000 was Fellow at CERN working on the development of a pulsed highly charged ion source for LHC based on a Laser Plasma. In 2000 he moved to the ENEA Casaccia Labs, since then he has been working on CVD deposition techniques for the growth of carbon based materials, their characterization and applications.
