Giosué COSTA
University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro

In 2008 he graduated in Pharmacy with 110/110 cum laude, discussing a thesis in Medicinal Chemistry entitled "Development of GBPM method for docking of chemical compounds of pharmaceutical interest."

In 2012 he received the title of PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, with a thesis titled "Computational studies applied to HIV-1 and macromolecular targets implication in rational drug design of new selective antiviral agents."

In 2014 the paper published in Molecules (2013, 18, 12051-12070) was selected among the best  research projects of UGM to the "II Gran Gala della Ricerca"

In the academic year 2016/2017 is teacher of Medicinal Chemistry and Toxicology II (SSD CHIM / 08 - Pharmaceutical Chemistry) at the Department of Health Sciences.

The scientific interests concern the application of new computational algorithms, and in particular of the Virtual Screening techniques for the study of intermolecular interactions of the drug-receptor and the design of new potential drugs with antitumor, antiviral, analgesic and antidepressant activities. In nutraceutical field is interested in virtual screening techniques of natural products using different targets of pharmacological interest. He is co-author of 42 publications in international scientific journals relating to medicinal chemistry and several presentations at national and international conferences.
